Building a Versatile Pipe/Metal Tube Rack for a Hardware Store in Albion

I recently took on an exciting project that marked a step up from the metalworks I've done before. A popular hardware store in Albion requested a custom-designed Pipe/Metal Tube Rack. The challenge was to create a rack that could be easily assembled and dismantled, allowing it to be moved effortlessly if needed.

Design and Build Process

The first step in this project was designing a versatile and sturdy rack. After finalizing the design, I moved on to cleaning the metal tubes thoroughly to remove all surface rust. However, I decided to perform all the cuttings and welding before sanding them down and applying primer/paint. This approach ensured a smoother and cleaner finish.

Cutting, Welding, and Sanding

Cutting and welding the tubes was a meticulous process, requiring precision to ensure all parts fit perfectly. After completing the welding, I sanded down the tubes to create a smooth surface for painting.

Painting

Spray painting was particularly enjoyable for this project. The paint not only had a beautiful color but also adhered well and dried quickly, ensuring a durable and professional finish.

Assembly in Store

Once all the parts were ready, I transported them to the hardware store for assembly. The modular design allowed for quick and easy setup, meeting the client's need for a movable rack.
